I just spent a month out of state ….it started as my spring break, but I realized my dad was about to die, and I took leave from work…I was with him the week in the hospital before his death
The hospital experience was my worst nightmare
Although Dad was late 90’s, and at the natural end of a long and healthy life, the trauma of that week ( I slept there) has taken over my life as the primary battle I face…day and night
I can see that the healing from that trauma might come from helping others AVOID such a horror show….by planning their loved ones’ end of life experience and including doctors, family members, and caregivers in that plan
